Ladders

1 Safety ladder with safety hoop

EKOguard SAFELAD 1

Safety ladder with safety hoop
Basic measures:
  • Ladder is usually made "in one piece" and up to 12 meters (due to transport to installation place issues). Longer ladder is made in segments and during the installation segments are attached one to another up to reaching the desired length.
GMAX – MAXIMUM LOAD ON SINGLE LADDER SEGMENTv 300 kg
Application:
  • Ladder is installed on manhole, chamber and similar entry points in order to enable safe climbing to the depth, or approach the plants.

2 Safety ladder with slider

EKOguard SAFELAD 2

Safety ladder with slider
Basic measures:
  • Ladder is usually delivered in segements of length up to 3 meters. Longer ladder is made by simple attachment of one segment to another until reaching the desired length.
GMAX – MAXIMUM LOAD ON SINGLE LADDER SEGMENT 300 kg
Application:
  • Safety ladder with slider is installed in all vertical accesses for safe climbing down into the manhole or climbing up to higher points (different manholes, watersupply, sewage,..)
  • Since this ladder does not have a safety hoop, it is suitable for installation into spaces where there is not enough room to install ladder with safety hoop
Main parts and functional description:
1. Safety shoulder belt and slider
  • Person using these ladder has to wear a helmet and safety (strap) shoulder belt with shackle in the chests area. Using safety link - carabiner, tight bonding of slider and belt can be performed.
  • Slider has a characteristic profile with slots corresponding the guide slot, so there is no possibility for slider to fall from the guide, during its movement along the mounting. Thus, slider fully secures the person from falling to the back (same as the ladder with safety hoop).
2. Portable handrail
  • Before climbing down the ladder, portable handrail is installed on the top of the ladder. Handrail is 1000 mm high; with central guide of the same profile as the ladder guide.
  • After inserting slider into portable handrail guide, person can use the ladder safely. After the person passes handrail guide, sliders continues to slide on the ladder guide.
3. Central guide and step irons
  • Anti-skid steps and the carriers used to fix the ladder to the vertical area, wall are evenly welded on the central guide.
  • Step perforations have sharp outer edge, pointed upwards, so the stepping surface is rugged (anti-skid). Besides, edge tablets used to stop accidental foot sliding outside the steps are welded on the step ends.

3 Safety ladder with slider

EKOguard SAFELAD 3 – standard

Safety ladder with slider
Basic dimensions:
  • Ladders are typically supplied in segments with a maximum length of up to 3m. Longer lengths of ladders are achieved by simply attaching one segment to another until the required length is reached.
GMAX – MAXIMUM LOAD CAPACITY OF ONE LADDER SEGMENT 300 kg
Application:
  • Safety ladders with a slider are installed for vertical access to safely descend into depths or ascend to heights (various shafts, water supply, sewage, etc.).
  • Since they do not have a safety cage, they are suitable for installation in spaces where traditional safety ladders with safety cages cannot be installed due to the width constraints of the cage.
Main parts and functional description:
1. Safety harness and slider:
  • The person using the ladder must wear a helmet and a safety (webbing) harness with a chest attachment point. The safety harness is securely connected to the slider via a safety link carabiner.
  • The slider has a distinctive profile with grooves that match the profile of the guide rail. As the person moves on the ladder, the slider can only slide along the guide rail, eliminating the possibility of the slider coming out of the rail. In other words, the slider completely prevents the person from falling backward (thus assuming the role of a safety cage as in ladders with a safety cage).
2. Portable handrail
  • Before descending the ladder, a portable handrail, 1000mm in height, is placed at the top of the ladder, with its central rail having the same profile as the ladder's guide rail.
  • After inserting the slider into the guide rail of the portable handrail, the person can safely move along the ladder. The slider continues to slide along the ladder's guide rail without interruption after the person passes through the handrail's guide rail.
3. Central guide rail and rungs:
  • Anti-slip rungs and brackets for securing the ladder to a vertical surface, such as a wall, are evenly welded along the central guide rail.
  • Perforations on the rungs have a sharp outer edge facing upwards, making the stepping surface of the rungs rough and anti-slip.
Optional additional equipment
  • Upon customer request, safety ladders can be supplied with: safety harness, carabiner with safety strap, slider, portable handrail.
